Article Abstract:
The TV film `Having Our Say' is based upon the 1993 autobiography of two sisters and centenarians Sadie and Bessie Delany. Sadie died in 1998 at the age of 109, and Bessie died in 1995 at 104. Both demonstrated remarkable courage and determination throughout their lives to become a teacher and dentist, respectively, in career areas that resisted African Americans. Camille Cosby, wife of Bill Cosby, produced the film, and it stars Diahann Carroll and Ruby Dee.

A mother's long journey back to her children

Linda McCathern's twin daughters have been living with their father since 1988, when he brought them to Libya and never returned them. In 1995 she was in a car accident that left her paralyzed. After negotiating with the Libyan government, Linda was finally able to visit her daughters.
